This week begins the Skytalkers journey through the Star Wars Machete Order. It all starts with 1999's The Phantom Menace. After a brief discussion about Dark Disciple and Forces of Destiny, we begin our thoughts on the first prequel film. We'll talk about the story, the characters and the behind-the-scenes documentary.
This week's Skytalkers theme is all about different visions of Star Wars. First, we'll talk to Jim Mello and Alex Ray about their visions for A Star Wars Comic. Then we'll talk about a vision of Padme that didn't make it into Revenge of the Sith. Would it have made sense to see Padme with a knife? We'll discuss. Then there have been some creative vision issues surrounding the Han Solo movie. We'll share reactions to the dismissal of Phil Lord & Chris Miller as directors. (Note: We recorded this conversation before Ron Howard was hired to replace them.)
To us, Princess/General Leia will always be royalty. Today's episode is all about her. First, we talk to Dr. Annalise Ophelian about the fangirl documentary, Looking For Leia. We'll also discuss whether or not Leia should be re-cast in order to continue her originally planned story in the new trilogy. Finally, we'll talk about her role outside the film (but within canon).
Caitlin and Charlotte are joined by Star Wars blogger Sarah Dempster to discuss Rogue One's Jyn Erso and the Beth Revis’s novel, Rebel Rising. They discuss Jyn's character and touch upon the question of whether the Star Wars films should be dependent on the new books as a character story source.
This week we took our one-theme concept to the spice mines of Kessel and smashed it into today's episode. What's left is a unique mix of Star Wars topics! Part one features a discussion about the Last Jedi Poster. Part two is a debate on the exact moment Anakin turned to the dark side. Part three highlights favorite books since the Disney takeover.
Charlotte and Caitlin discuss the Star Wars movies, TV shows, characters and canon.
