Over the past two days, DC Comics has made some exciting announcements for fans of the Rebirth storylines. The first, which was reported by Comics Alliance, is the upcoming Teen Titans four-part crossover event, “The Lazarus Contract”. The title harkens back to the classic Teen Titans story “The Judas Contract”, which will be released as an animated feature later this year. The story will start in May with Titans #11, continue in Teen Titans #18 and Deathstroke #19. We'll get the conclusion in Teen Titans Annual: The Lazarus Contract #1.
The event, which will be written by Dan Abnett, Benjamin Percy, and Christopher Priest, with artwork from Brett Booth, Khoi Pham, Carlo Pagulayan and Paul Pelletier, will focus on the origins of the two current teams of Titans (one being led by Deathstroke and the other by Nightwing).
DC’s Rebirth has raised a lot of questions regarding timelines and what exactly Dr. Manhattan is up to, and this event is staged to help provide some answers.
The second bit of news is that Bane will be getting a his own series from the character's original co-creators, writer Chuck Dixon and artist Graham Nolan. CBR broke the news of this series, “Bane: Conquest”, which is also set to be released in May. The official description from DC Comics states that Bane will be moving his focus away from Gotham and looking for “new cities to conquer and new enemies to crush.”
Bane is currently making his presence felt in the pages of Batman with the “I am Bane” storyline. Since his new series is scheduled to be released shortly after this storyline wraps up, one can assume that the events in Batman will help launch Bane's solo outing.
